While the aforementioned album made McLean a household name, it also relegated him, in the minds of the public, to a 'one hit wonder.'/5(57).

Best known for his "American Pie" single, Don McLean has lovingly crafted this ballad, which pays homage to one of the greatest artists of his time (and my personal favorite), Van Gogh, of course. It always brings a tear to my eye, as I have read quite a lot about Vincent's troubled life/5(94).
